About CU Create
Here at CU Create our mission is to create an environment where children can explore and experiment through play, dream and imagine, make new discoveries, follow personal artistic goals, make mistakes, challenge themselves, grow as creators and learn to work within a studio atmosphere. Through teacher demonstrations of various techniques and mediums, we allow children to respond to their own ideas and interests through art making. Here at CU Create, the child is the artist, and this is their studio.
Hey there! My name is Megan Farkas, and I’m the founder of CU Create. During the school year I teach Elementary Art and STEAM at Judah Christian School and also teach classes, workshops and host parties here at CU Create, traveling around the Champaign/Urbana area and bringing my supplies to you! We recently partnered with The Crow at 110 and now most of our programming happens at their location with the exception of Summer Camp, which is still held at Judah Christian School.
I have been a teacher since 2009. My love for Visual Art along with many years of experience working with children made it an easy decision to become an Art Educator. Since becoming a teacher I have a continual drive to inspire young artists and have worked to best support them to act and think like artists. My greatest goal is to foster an environment that allows children to explore, grow as an artist while deepening their love for art.
Why CU Create
We serve both local homeschooling families and community members with a variety of classes and workshops, inspiration-filled parties for birthdays and other special occasions, and an outstanding summer art program!
Through the many different opportunities available, CU Create aspires to be a place where anyone can express their creativity and we truly believe that they are the artist and that this is their studio!
